Job Description

To manage, analyze, and maintain an organization’s financial records to ensure accuracy, compliance, and informed decision-making. The accountant supports financial operations by preparing reports, monitoring budgets, reconciling accounts, and ensuring that all financial transactions follow relevant laws, standards, and internal controls. The role helps leadership understand the company’s financial position and guides strategic planning through reliable financial insights.

Responsibilities

• Oversee invoicing, monitor collections, and ensure proper revenue recognition
• Ensure accurate reporting of project and company-wide financial performance, maintaining compliance with IFRS and internal policies.
• Verify supplier invoices, process payments to contractors and vendors, and maintain updated reconciliation of payable accounts.
• Support annual budgeting, update forecasts, and track variances to guide cost control and resource planning.
• Prepare cash flow projections, manage bank transactions, and ensure sufficient liquidity for project and operational needs.
• Prepare and file VAT, WHT, and CIT schedules, ensuring timely remittances and adherence to tax regulations.
• Provide necessary schedules, documentation, and explanations to auditors, ensuring smooth and timely audit closure.
• Maintain complete and organized financial records, update the accounting system, and ensure audit-ready documentation.
• Analyze financial trends, highlight risks or inefficiencies, and advise management on opportunities to improve performance.
• Other responsibilities as assigned by management.

Requirements

• OND,HND or BSC degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fields.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in accounting and finance
• Strong analytical and financial reporting skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive financial data.
• Strong organisational and teamwork skills.
• Strong presentation and stakeholder-management skills.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Strong understanding of tax regulations and compliance requirements.
• Understanding of accounting standards and best practices in the construction/property development industry.
